A Word from Our President

As I begin my second year as President of the Wayne Township Classroom Teachers Association, I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving you. Thank you for once again placing your faith and trust in me. Your confidence strengthens my commitment to representing our members with integrity, dedication, empathy, and transparency.

After 33 years of serving the students and families of Wayne Township, I remain deeply committed to advancing the interests of our members and strengthening the voice of educators throughout our community. The challenges facing public education continue to demand our resilience, unity, and collective action.

This year, I look forward to picking up where we left off and building upon the progress we have made together. Your Executive Board is prepared and ready to serve our members throughout the new school year. We will continue advocating for fair and equitable working conditions, meaningful professional development opportunities, and the resources educators need to help every student think critically, act compassionately, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

I believe strongly in the power of collaboration and open communication. I remain committed to listening to your experiences and concerns, engaging with you honestly, and working alongside you to address the issues that matter most. Our collective strength will be the foundation upon which we continue Wayne Township’s proud legacy and build an even brighter future for our educators and students.

As educator Henry Adams reminded us, “A teacher affects eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops.” May these words inspire us as we begin another year of teaching, advocating, and making a lasting difference.

Thank you again for entrusting me with this responsibility. I am proud to serve you, advocate for you, and support you as we move forward together.

We Are WAYNE!

In solidarity,
Alyssa Preddie-Allen MS. Ed.

TESTIMONIAL

When asked about what makes teaching in MSD of Wayne Township unique…

Teaching in MSD of Wayne Township is unique because it is more than just teaching academic skills. It is about building relationships and being part of a community that truly cares about its students. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and each child brings something different to the classroom. This makes every day meaningful and reminds me that teaching is not a one size fits all job.

Serving this specific community shapes my daily purpose because I want my students to know that they are valued, capable, and supported. I have the opportunity to watch them grow not only as readers, writers, and mathematicians, but also as kind, responsible, and confident individuals. Some days, that means celebrating a student who finally understands a difficult skill. Other days, it means helping a child work through a problem with a friend or simply reminding them that they are capable of more than they think.

For me, the most rewarding part of teaching in MSD of Wayne Township is knowing that the work I do each day can have an impact that extends beyond the classroom. I want my students to leave my classroom not only having learned something, but also feeling more confident, capable, and connected to their community. That sense of purpose is what makes teaching here so meaningful to me.
